Whitby Resolution Hotel ~ Offering Hotel accommodation in Whitby North Yorkshire The Resolution Hotel is a gloriously impressive building with a history that has over the years seen many changes. The Hotel was built in 1779 by John Addison, a local builder for Thomas Campion (Shipowners) and was originally named Flowergate House. It was designed on the plans of the Mansion House in London and was once described as "the most handsome house in Whitby". In 1824 the premises were sold and re-opened as the grand Crown Hotel and remained so until the mid 50's when it was taken over by Whitby Working Men's Club. However after almost fifty years the club became unprofitable and the property was purchased by the Punch Pub Company in 2002. This saw a two million-pound refurbishment undertaken and the premises restored to former glory

All our rooms have satellite TV, direct dial telephone, modem facility, tea and coffee making facility and of course all our bedrooms are non-smoking for the comfort of all of our guests, the hotel also comprises several sea-view rooms, which provide spectacular views of the abbey, coastline and the harbour.

We also have a romantic four poster honeymoon suite, which comes with its very own celebration package of flowers, chocolates and champagne.

Food is served daily in the restaurant and bar from 12.00pm - 2.00pm and 6.00pm - 9.00pm and is open to non-residents in addition to hotel guests. We also have a large open plan bar with comfortable seating, pool table, large screen television with sky Sports and music, which can all be enjoyed in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
